Download The Panorama Project--for Free!!!

About 4 years ago, I had this idea that I wanted to do an LP that was primarily hip hop based. To be more precise, it started out as an EP, but I digress. I started recording in my boys apartment (what up O?) in Baltimore during the summer of '05. Between life changes, job changes, O and his wife moving, etc...the LP wasn't "released" until September 7, 2007, or 07-07-07 (if you aren't using a Roman calendar). Between my artistic growth, lack of funds to produce the LP the way I wanted to (packaging), and a host of other issues, the Panorama project got stalled. Despite all of this, I still feel it is an album worth giving a listen, as I believe that a true hip hop head can find something in it to gravitate to. The lyrics could honestly be better, but they're poignant and honest nonetheless. The production could have been more apt and polished, but it was something I felt could roll with at the time, and stand by that decision today. Making this LP became an endeavor to discover ourselves, O as a budding producer, and me trying to find my confidence with the whole rhyming thing. Being so critical of everything I do, I'm inordinately critical of my rhymes. This process taught me how to be comfortable with myself as a rapper, and that if I put the time in, I could/can be very nice at doing it. This still doesn't mean I wanna be a rapper or anything; really, this is a form of self expression (it's a bit too late to be trying to jump in the game as a rapper). So, in that spirit, I'm releasing this project to the masses free of charge--no big hoopla or fanfare, as a testament to my growing process. If you wanna donate some loot to the cause, by all means let me know, but, please check out the project. Give it an honest and objective listen...and feel free to let me know what you think. Hell, you can even hate--just do so constructively.
Striving for creativity in all things,
DaVinci Parks

Upgrade to Version 2.0 Already?!

I know it's only been a couple of weeks, but, DaVinci Parks.com has already been put through a major upgrade, as the artist wanted to express something more along the lines of his moniker. I believe it's a much improved upgrade over the initial design, and hope you do as well.
Enjoy!

www.DaVinciParks.com unveiled on 07/07/07

It has been a long time coming, but the official DaVinci Parks website was unveiled today, September 7. 2007 at 12 noon. You may wonder why this day is being referred to as 07/07/07; Well, September was originally the seventh month on the calendar, hence the "Sept" prefix, prior to Julius Caesar naming a month after him (July) and Augustus Caesar following suit (August). As the number seven has always had a special significance for the artist, and is known to be a powerful and Godly number, the artist decided this would be the best day to release his website.

The Panorama Project Finally Set to Debut

The long labored over Panorama Project is scheduled to be released on 07/07/07--September 07, 2007, or D-Day, as the artist jokingly refers to the release date. The artist, a Virgo, decided to use a non-traditional calendar to set the release date for his debut CD, as September is the seventh month on the calendar if you don't adhere to the Roman calendar. The projects collaborators, DaVinci Parks and O. J. Miles of Juice Factory Music, are both making their first endeavors as emcee and producer respectively. Although Mr. Parks has long been a part of the DC Metro area's Arts Community, it has been as a poet, not as a rapper. Making his first foray into the hip hop world as a solo artist, he is confident that those who give the project an honest listen will be open to his seemingly drastic change of pace.
